Your covers come to you with a protective liner. Do not remove liner until

installation is complete.

The new HHR overlay kit has been designed to compliment the factory casting of the

engine shroud. With this application you will transform your shroud into a nice looking

custom piece emulating a real metal intake manifold.

1. The first thing you will need to do is to thoroughly prep the shrouds surface keeping in

mind that the shroud itself is made of a composite plastic that generally does not allow

any thing to stick to it. So it will be necessary to do a VERY thorough job in order to

insure a permanent installation. Scrub the entire top surface area with alcohol to remove

any and all road grime and dirt. With the surface scrubbed raw swipe the entire area once

with the adhesive promoter provided. Once you have completed this preparation, test it in

random areas with the sample attachment tape test strips provided. Once you are

confident that you have achieved a good prep you can begin installation.

2. Place the small oddly shaped ring into the shroud. Although the ring will fit in either

side up you will notice that it will fit a little better one way. So swap it around to find the

best fit and also to get acquainted with just how you will set it in place. Peel the red

release liner from the back of the ring and firmly press into the shroud.

3. Your kit comes with four center caps designed to set atop the four inner areas of the

shroud. Although they come to you pre rolled you will need to tweak the shape a little by

hand to achieve a nice contoured fit. You will also notice that there are two different pairs

of covers. One set is shaped for the outer area and one set is shaped for the inner areas.
